Volunteer Registration is now OPEN!!!

Registered Volunteers must attend a Training Session and be cleared by the Gaston County Sherriff’s Department background check before they are fully confirmed to participate. You will receive a ‘registered’ confirmation email after you complete your registration. Please be sure to check your ‘spam’ filters for our notification.
If you are confirmed but then cannot attend the event,
please notify us as soon as you can,
especially if you elect to be a Buddy!

from a parent or guardian to volunteer.

We “highly” encourage volunteers to register as a “BUDDY”, a very fulfilling role to being a one-on-one partner for the night with one of our valued Guests to help them navigate our venue. Our staff will answer any of your questions and are available during the event to assist you or your Guest as needed.

Most of our positions other than “BUDDY” have limited staffing as we want to make as much room for our Guests as we can physically accommodate.
So, if you haven’t quite decided exactly what you want to volunteer to do, please, consider being a Buddy…you definitely won’t regret it!!

Please be aware, “Night To Shine” is a very popular event and each year, Southminster reaches capacity earlier and earlier once we open registration. We do offer a WaitList once we reach capacity, and we try our best to clear folks from the WaitList as soon as we can – but unfortunately, we have to wait for cancellations which can happen up to the day of the event.

have room for additional Guests. Please visit the

Hair and Makeup Reservations

Appointments for Hair and Makeup will also open in Early December. Guests are invited to schedule a time on Friday, February 13th, 2026 between 4 and 6pm to have their hair and/or makeup done before the event.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING

“Night To Shine” is a very special event for our Guests and its you, tour Volunteers, that make is special for them. It takes a commitment of your time to attend the advanced training session and devote your evening to help the Guest experience the love of God and community.

Even if you have volunteered before, there are changes every year.
We will have three training sessions scheduled – you must attend ONE (1) of these sessions which last roughly one hour and are held on our campus in our sanctuary. Please check in when you arrive so we can update your registration information:

- - - - Thursday, February 5th at 6:30pm
        
        Saturday, February 7th at 10:00am
        
        Saturday, February 7th at 2:00pm

Please note, you must attend one of these sessions before you can participate as a volunteer (even if you have volunteered before). If you have concerns about your ability to attend one these dates, please contact our church office or send an email to nts@southminsterchurch.com.

The Tim Tebow Foundation has made the decision that for the safety of our guests, 2022’s event will once again be virtual. Southminster church is once again partnering with the Tim Tebow Foundation to register guests in and around Gaston County and provide a “Shine Thru” experience at our campus on Friday, February 11th, 2022, similar to the event last year.
